Paneer Masala Dosa

One of the most popular dosas on Udupi Palace's menu, this filling is rich, creamy and spicy.

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2- inch piece of ginger, minced
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 cups loosely packed grated paneer (Indian cottage cheese)
  • 2 plum tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander, finely chopped

Warm oil in non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and sauté until soft, about 4 minutes. Add garlic and ginger, sauté 1 minute. Add salt, turmeric and cayenne, sauté 1 minute more. Add paneer, sauté 2 minutes. Fold in gently tomatoes and coriander; cook 1 minute. Remove from heat, transfer to bowl.

Put 3 to 4 tablespoons of filling in middle of dosa. Fold over sides and serve.
